What we are
Crown Roof Co. books roof repairs, replacements and related exterior work for homes and businesses across the Charlotte region: Mecklenburg County, the Lake Norman towns, Cabarrus, Union and Gaston counties, and York County across the South Carolina line. The roofing itself is done by independent roofing contractors who carry liability insurance and, for jobs that North Carolina law reserves for licensed contractors, a licence from the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors.
The name comes from Charlotte's old nickname, the Queen City. We're a local outfit with a local phone number, and the people who come to your house work the same neighborhoods week in and week out.
How we run a job
Every roof job follows the same order. Someone looks at the roof, on top and from the attic where possible. You get photos of what they found. You get a written price that lists materials by name, labor, disposal and the permit when one applies. Then, and only then, work starts. If we find something during a tear-off, like soft decking, the price for fixing it is already in your quote as a per-sheet number, so nobody has to renegotiate on your driveway.
What we won't do
- Lay new shingles over an old roof to save a day.
- Split a job into smaller invoices to slip under North Carolina's licensing threshold. That's unlicensed contracting under state law.
- Skip the Mecklenburg County permit on a replacement, or the Certificate of Appropriateness on a historic-district home.
- Tell you a roof needs replacing when a repair will do.
